Flexibility... Less Leakage…Better Performance
Typically, plastic pipes are supplied in 6m lengths: concrete pipes are usually supplied in 1m or 3m lengths. Using plastic pipes ensures that fewer joints are required along the pipeline, therefore minimising any potential leakage points. The flexible nature of plastic pipes ensures that they are more tolerant to deformation and movement of the surrounding soil than rigid pipes, further minimising the risk of leakage, a key factor when considering the Groundwater Directive and overall Water Framework Directive legislation which puts a reduction in diffuse pollution as a critical objective.
No Corrosion and Chemically Resistant
Unlike many traditional pipe materials, plastic pipes are not subject to corrosion, and offer excellent resistance to a wide range of chemicals. Correctly installed, plastic pipes require little or no maintenance in normal use, they do not rust, pit or scale. Their smooth non-porous bore guards against stubborn blockages on the inner pipe wall. The total piping system is designed to meet specified long-term performance requirements, ensuring complete integrity and leak-free operation.
